The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) is a professional accounting organization based in Pakistan. As of December 2018, it had 9989 members working both within and outside of Pakistan.

On July 1, 1961, it was established to govern the accounting profession in Pakistan. It was established as a legally autonomous institution under the Chartered Accountants Ordinance 1961. In 1983, the CA Ordinance and Bylaws were modified in response to significant improvements in the profession.

The ICAP course consists of both theoretical instruction and hands-on training (3.5 years) lasting approximately 6 years.

ICAP’s CA course is broken into four steps: PRC, CAF, CFAP, and MSA. There are five papers in the PRC stage, two groups in the CAF stage (A and B), four papers in A and four papers in B, six papers in CFAP, and two papers in MSA but not in CAF. Then there’s a scrap of paper in the center. The artwork has a shipping period of 3.5 years.

The Institute’s headquarters are in Karachi’s Clifton, where it has its own facilities. The agency also has regional offices in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan, Gujranwala, Sukkur, Quetta, Mirpur, Faisalabad, Abbottabad, and Hyderabad.
